Ahavas Torah Center is a Shul and Jewish community located in Henderson Nevada with approximately 80 frum families. The Henderson Eruv is managed by the shul. Henderson is 15 miles from Las Vegas. Los Vegas has it’s own separate eruv.
Henderson Eruv / Las Vegas Eruv
The Henderson Eruv recently underwent a significant upgrade to meet modern challenges. The updated design incorporates extensive sections of fencing, creating a more robust and reliable system compared to traditional pole-based eruvin.
Henderson Community
The Henderson community is warm, welcoming, and growth-oriented. If you’re seeking an out-of-town community where people of all backgrounds—whether wearing a kippah, streimel, sandals, or sneakers—are embraced, Henderson might be your perfect fit.
For Jewish travelers, Henderson is a hidden gem. Here’s the plan: land at the Las Vegas airport, brace yourself for an immediate and overwhelming “Hashem doesn’t want me here” vibe that you will smell immediately in the terminal (this is not a joke-the airport is terrible); quickly escape and head straight to Henderson. There, you’ll find a simple yet inviting shul and a vibrant Jewish community far removed from the glitz, grit, and nisht git that Vegas is known for.
The area offers stunning hiking trails and family-friendly kosher activities set against the breathtaking Nevada mountains. While kosher dining and shopping are available, don’t expect the variety found in larger Jewish hubs like Florida, Los Angeles, or Phoenix. Henderson offers a refreshing, wholesome escape with great weather and all the essentials in a serene and scenic environment.
